Facilities

HWRC facilities include a meeting space for approximately 25 people in the main lodge. Our three-season laboratory building includes both work and storage space, refrigerator-freezers, hot/cold running water, drying ovens, environmental chamber, balances, stereomicroscope. For teaching purposes, the lodge and lab can each accommodate classes of roughly 15 students. 

Lodging

Overnight lodging is available at HWRC for individuals involved in research and educational activities on site and in the surrounding national forest and canoe area mid-May through September, and on a more limited basis year-round. Cabins accommodate 2-6 people, with kitchens and bathrooms either in-unit or nearby. Our lodging buildings are rustic and varied in character. Linens are not included.

Lodging Policies

  • No pets allowed.
  • No recreational use or camping.
  • HWRC is a tobacco free campus.
